Topic Module

Topics provide a level of disambiguation and curation in addition to a normal keyword search. E.g. searches for the climate change topic can return articles about global warming as well.

Topic Object Attributes

  • name

    Name of the Topic

  • description

    A brief description of the topic from Wikipedia

  • image_url

    Thumbnail of the topic

  • classification

    Classification of the topic. Valid values are Disease, Theme, Industry, Product, Company, Organization, Place, Event, and Person.

  • subclassification

    Subclassification of the topic. Examples include Politician, NFL Player as subclassification of a Person or Venture Capital Firm as a sublclassification of Company.

  • guid

    Globally unique identifier of the topic

  • link

    URL of the Wikipedia entry for the topic

    'Returns a list of articles related to the specified topic.

  • Topic Stories

    'Returns the top news stories for the specified topic.

  • Topic Images

    'Returns images related to the specified topic.

    'Returns a list of the current most popular topics related to the query string.

    'Search for a specific topic.

  • Topic Sources

    'Returns a list of sources that cover the specified topic.
